Season 3 Episode Summaries

Episode 1: “The Valley of the Shadows”
Air Date: August 10, 2007
It is moments after the drive-by shooting at the prom and ambulances rush the victims to the ER and everyone realizes that nothing will be the same again. As Ashley and Spencer try to come to grips with the situation and Ashely makes a choice that puts pressure on Spencer. After a summer apart, the students start a new year at King High and reflect on what happened at prom.

Episode 2: “Can’t Buy Me Love”
Air Date: August 10, 2007
Ashely and Kyla finally get their inheritance from their father’s estate. Ashley believes that the money can give her the chance to get away with Spencer. But when Aiden decides he wants a second chance with Ashley it throws a dent in their plans. Spencer finds out that Ashley and Aiden spent the night together. Meanwhile Glen tries to find his way out of serving in the army.

Episode 3: “The It Girls”
Air Date: August 17, 2007
Tired of living with her mother, Ashley and Kyla drop a chunk of their $25 million inheritance on a new loft as far from her mother as possible. Now that they are living togheter, they start acting more like sisters. Meanwhile Spencer and Chelsea are having problems moving on after Clay’s death and don’t want to watch the MTV True Life documentary about the school shooting. They only feel ready to watch it after they feel the baby kick.

Episode 4: “Spencer’s New Girlfriend”
Air Date: August 24, 2007
Spencer spends the day at Chelsea’s studio with Carmen while Ashley is having a difficult time figuring out who she wants to be with, especially when Aiden puts his foot down and tells her to stop leading him on. Madison learns what Jake has in store for her when she goes to his place for romantic dance lessons.

Episode 5: “The Truth Hurts”
Air Date: August 31, 2007
Spencer has moved on and started a new relationship with Carmen, but Ashley wants to protect her friend. Madison tries to get Ashley’s help getting into a club and Aiden just wants some help before he falls to pieces.

Episode 6: “Fighting Crime”
Air Date: September 7, 2007
Spencer is done with Carmen just as Aiden and Madison are getting started with their own relationship. Ashely is glad because she needs Spencer’s support as an old friend from New York has big plans for her future. Chelsea has plans for the baby, but she might not have as much say as she would like.

Episode 7: “Saturday Night is for Fighting”
Air Date: September 14, 2007
Jake is busy trying to make Kyla the new It girl, but then she finds out that Ash is trying to become an It girl herself and Kyla gets mad. Aiden is there to see it all unfold and relizes that he might be falling apart. Meanwhile Spencer sees that guys have a hard time seeing that she doesn’t want a relationship with them.

Episode 8: “Gay Pride”
Air Date: September 21, 2007
Spencer wants someone to go with her to show her pride, but it seems like everyone is too busy with their own lives. Meanwhile Kyla’s success could have negative repercussions in the future.

Episode 9: “Career Day”
Air Date: October 10, 2008
Spencer and Ashley are back together and this time it is Ashley looking for a commitment. Glen is fired by Jake because he wasn’t there for Kyla when a photographer cornered her the night before. Jake decides to lie to Ashley and make Kyla’s voice fake on the CD since she cannot sing.

Episode 10: “Spencer’s 18th Birthday”
Air Date: October 17, 2008
Spencer is turning 18 and her grandmother comes to visit her at her party. Spencer isn’t sure whether or not she should come out to her grandmother. Spencer gets to know Lily’s girlfriend, Jonica at the party. Kyla and Ashley are asked to sing on national TV and are embarrassed when the fact that Kyla can’t sing gets out. Meanwhile Glen is hurt when he sees Aiden spending more quality time with his father than he does.

Episode 11: “A Very Inconvenient Truth”
Air Date: October 24, 2008
Spencer and Ashley can’t seem to get any alone. Kyla tells Ashley about the fake voice on the CD and Ashely forces her to apologize on national TV. Jake is furious with Kyla for telling the truth and Kyla dumps him. Meanwhile, Glen, Arthur, and Aiden go camping in the Sierra Mountains and Glen breaks down and tells his father that he thinks he prefers Aiden over him.

Episode 12: “Love and Kisses”
Air Date: November 7, 2008
Ashley sees a video of Kyla when she was high and admits that Ashley is a whore and that her father was a joke. Ashely feels betrayed and forces Kyla to get out. Unfortunately, Kyla has no where to go. Meanwhile Aiden attempts to make a better connection with Sasha. She dumps him when he doesn’t get into her school because she doesn’t think he is good enough. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Glen get a little closer, while Jonica flirts with Spencer. Once Spencer gives in and makes her move on Jonica, Jonica admits that she was only doing it for fun.

Episode 13: “Better Late Than Never”
Air Date: November 14, 2008
Glen has feelings for Chelsea, but she has a hard time accepting them. Meanwhile Aiden tries to defend Kyla, but Ashely wants nothing to do with her. Once everyone realizes that the video of Kyla was edited together by Jake, Ashely forgives her and lets her stay. Sean returns from New Orleans to help Chelsea with her memorial presentation and tries to win her affections while she is there. When everyone has dinner at the Carlin’s, Glen makes a shocking confession in front of everyone.

Episode 14: “Past, Present, and Future”
Air Date: November 21, 2008
Everyone is left to deal with the aftermath of Glen’s confession. Sean is learning to accept Chelsea’s decision to be with Glen. Carmen returns after a few surprise appearances on the street. She persuades Kyla to let her live with her and Ashley. Madison returns from her tour with Justin Timberlake, but only for awhile until the European tour starts up. Ashley is nervous about Spencer leaving for college. And Aiden gets into a motorcycle accident.

Episode 15: “Taking Seconds”
Air Date: December 5, 2008
Ashley tries to go over a solo artist plan with Ethan, but it seems like an impossible task with Madison around. Ethan has hired her to sing Ashley’s songs. He wants them to partner up, but can’t seem to get their approval. Ashely wants to sing her own songs because they came from her heart. Spencer tries to encourage Ash to take the deal and Carmen sees Ashely’s point of view and tells her not to take the deal. In the end, Ashley and Madison create a system that gives them new songs for Madison and still uses Ashley’s writing skills. Aiden seems to be feeling better after the accident, but Kyla is the one to snap some sense into him by slapping and kissing him. Carmen looks for a new place to live, but ends up wanting to live with the Davies.

Episode 16: “On the Precipice”
Air Date: December 12, 2008
In this one hour series finale, Spencer is forced to consider her future with Ashley who seems ready for commitment while everyone else gets ready to move onto the next chapter of their lives. Glen and Chelsea take the next step in their relationship. Meanwhile Aiden and Kyla are back together and plans of a Vegas wedding are in the air. Carmen attempts to seduce Ashley, so Ash kicks her out of the loft. Ashley is finally ready to tell Spencer how she feels at Spencer’s graduation party.
